Join with the Well Dressed Band

to run a Home Grown Ceilidh for your charity or organisation

  • Raise money
  • Raise awareness of your cause
  • And have a lot of fun!

The Well Dressed Band is a community ceilidh band based in the Hope Valley. For over 15 years now, we have held up to five Home Grown Ceilidhs a year, partnering with different charities and community groups, on Sunday evenings at the Broomhall Centre. We invite people attending to bring food to share for a pot luck supper halfway through. They are some of our very favourite events!

But we need partners to run them with:

How does it work?

The band:

  • Books the hall.
  • Books a caller
  • Provides the band
  • Organises an events licence for the live music and bar if you want one.
  • Sets up the online booking site

The partner needs to:

  • Design a flyer and publicise the event in advance
  • On the night come with about 6 enthusiastic volunteers to
    • Set up tables and chairs
    • Decorate the hall
    • Set up any information display
    • Set out the food as it arrives
    • Do admissions and ticket sales on the door
    • Organise and run the raffle
    • Do a short pitch for your organisation in the break.
    • Set up and run the bar if you want one. (We may be able to help with this)
    • Wash up and clear up at the end.

The band takes out our expenses for booking the hall, caller and events licence. The rest of the tickets sales and any money you make on the night from the bar and raffle is yours. You can expect to raise at least £500 if all the tickets are sold.
